Default HAVA Streaming Video Player for iPhone Released

Monsoon Multimedia has introduced a version of the HAVA Mobile Player app that allows users to view and control their home television service, including cable, satellite and TiVo, from anywhere in the world on their iPhone.

HAVA Mobile Player for iPhone"Our support for iPhone and iPod Touch gives HAVA customers the ability to watch any of their 300+ TV channels, their favorite football team on game day, or their local news in very high quality, regardless of their location, wherever Wi-Fi is available."

This software requires a HAVA player, which is connected to the home TV and network. It's this device which handles streaming the content over the Internet. Prices start at $150 for new units, or $75 for refurbished units.

Pricing & Availability
The Monsoon HAVA Player for the iPhone and iPod Touch is now available as a direct download at iPhone App Store for $9.99.

The HAVA product line is available from Monsoon at www.myhava.com and through select retailers and e-tailers nationwide.

There are also versions of Mobile Player for other platforms, including Symbian S60 and Nokia Internet Tablets.

Sorry, but does is the HAVA accessible over the cell network AND WiFi or only WiFi? The quoted passage suggests only WiFi; but I thought I'd ask.

I posted a message directed at you, Ed, in the thread you started that said that Apple/ATT would now allow Skype to operate on iPhones over the 3G cellular network as well as WiFi. I asked if that meant that Slingplayer would soon work via the cell network as well.

On the plus side, from what I understand, the HAVA uses real MPEG4 video and they only charge $10 for the mobile player. I believe that Sling charges $30!
