Default Kinoma Play Now Available for Symbian S60

Kinoma has released a a version of its flagship product, Kinoma Play, for smartphones running Symbian S60. This app has been designed to help users find, play, and share audio and video.

It lets users find media by browsing the built-in Kinoma Guide or searching leading sites like YouTube, Flickr, and SHOUTcast. It allows them to play media in many popular formats including Windows Media, MPEG-4/H.264, and iTunes AAC. Finally, Kinoma Play users can share what they're enjoying using Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm, and more.

It goes beyond being a basic audio and video player, including support for podcasts, audiobooks, Internet radio and photos.

Pricing and Availability
Kinoma Play for Nokia Symbian/S60 devices (S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 or Feature Pack 2) is available at kinoma.com for $29.99.

Seems rather odd at this point to come out without S60v5 touchscren support (N97, 5800). Oh well, never liked Kinoma that much on Palm, probably wouldn't have forked out $30 anyway.

Great tutorials for the Nokia 5800 XM!-----------5800 Take-Apart Pics.

Next (2010): Want keyboard, maybe D-Pad, maybe bigger screen: N97 or N97 Mini?

According to @janole (Gravity developer), takes quite a bit of work to make an app work in both S60 v3 and V5. We still don't have a native Facebook on V3, although Facebook on S60 V5 is one of the better mobile Facebooks out there.

We're just starting with 3rd Edition, since there are vastly more of them out there, and we want the time to make sure our S60 touch support is brilliant out of the gate.

Kinoma Play's an entirely different product. It's a pretty incredible value since it replaces the need to buy a bunch of single-purpose apps.

Kinoma has a 30-day money-back guarantee, so it's risk free as well. (You can even get it for free via TrialPay.)

When the S60 V5 version comes out, I will certainly give it a try. I try not to punish a developer by holding onto an experience that didn't go smoothly for years when often developers make great improvements over time.

The fact that it does internet radio makes me very interested.
