Default Apple Dropping Palm OS Support from OS X

Unconfirmed reports say that the next version of Apple's Mac OS X will no longer have support for devices running the Palm OS.

For several years now, iSync has supported smartphones and handhelds running the Palm OS, but this will apparently soon end. Apple is getting ready to release a new version -- code-named "Snow Leopard" -- and this reportedly won't come with software to sync with older Palm devices.

How the Mighty Have Fallen
The reason for this is clear: after years of prominence, the Palm OS is now on its way out. It has been replaced by the webOS, the new operating system on the Palm Pre and the rumored Palm Eos.

Those who have a Mac and install iSync 3.1.0 will have some options to synchronize their Palm OS model. At the top of the list is Mark/Space's The Missing Sync, which provides more features than the basic iSync.
