P1 botched both the Treo 650 and Tungturd T5 launches. Good riddens to Bradley. Notice they didn't make Colligan permanent CEO, just interim. If they have any sense they'll also dump Colligan.

I think were seeing the fallout of a power struggle, one in which Todd Bradley lost, and seeing this, has moved on. There has been a marked changed in strategy, regarding there product line, since palmone aquired handspring. There was some question as to what part the handspring execs would play in the company, and I think this makes it pretty clear. The handhelds under the first part of Bradley's oversight bore a stark difference to Palm's previous pattern. The included features that were very competative and sometimes set a new bar for handhelds to reach. This in tandem withe aggresive release schedule really helped Palm to maintain its lead. When they aquired Handspring a return to the previous ideas of using tried and true over inovative for handhelds. This in tandem with the idea that smartphones were the only future seemed to drive Palm's product line. This was the philosiphy of Handspring before the acquistion, and with Bradley out of the picture, I seriously doubt Palm will change from this formula.

Its kind of sad really, because inovation tends to be the only way to fight an imensly larger competitor such as Microsoft. -- The end of an era is upon us, the era of the competative Palm Handheld.

Unhappy

Another year...another CEO. This is getting pathetic. OK maybe its not a yearly occurrence but every 18? 24 months?

How can a company be expected to maintain a single, focused course of action when its, for all intents and purposes, leader keeps jumping ship.

Cool Somebody call a doctor!

The writing's on the wall- P1 is sliding down a very slippery slope toward the dust bin. Competition is coming from all sides, and it's obvious they're struggling to stay alive, despite a supposedly profitable quarter. IMO, they should seriously consider getting in bed with deeper pockets. They've got very ardent fans and a few very innovative designs. Let's see, who's a proven market leader in marketing, product design, and fighting the good fight versus Seattle's Goliath?? Who that meets that criteria is not currently in the smartphone/handheld arena? Gosh, I'd love for all the P1 people to keep their JOBS. But P1 is sick and needs help. And I've always been told an APPLE a day, keeps the caskets at bay....

Thumbs down

P1 will pay dearly to have Todd Bradley go away quietly.
