Is it compatible with any games? I'm fond of first person shooters, but have never found PPC controls to be adequate for those types of games.

And finally, Bluetooth can't be used on an airplane, so don't think you'll be using this gizmo on your next transcontinental flight.
I thought this only applies durring landing and lift off?

Obviously, the left button lets you select things.
This is not quite so obvious to lefties

It is my understanding that you can't use a Bluetooth device at any point during a flight. However, I tried to Google this and wasn't able to come up with a definitive answer. Does anyone know for sure?

This is how every two-button mouse I've ever used has worked. I'm assuming at this point most lefties are used to this. Still, as I said, you can re-program the Stowaway Travel Mouse to suit your needs.

Yes, this is one of the handhelds I tested it with. Before anyone asks about other models, Think Outside has a compatibility chart on its web site.

Ed,
Thx for excellent article/review. This really does seem like a BT break through of sorts.

Have to ask my standard BT device question. Do you know if this operates via BT1.2 or is 1.1? If there later will it interfere with standard PPC's WiFi connection?

Interesting . . .

So how well does it work in combination with the BT keyboard?

I noticed they have a package deal going on until X-Mas and you'll save 20.00 USD on the mouse if you purchase it with an IR keyboard.

This would be a great combination for my hx4700 in landscape mode.

Now if they would just have a package deal with the BT keyboard and a stand . . .

The Stowaway Travel Mouse uses Bluetooth 1.1, which means that it sometimes interferes with Wi-Fi. The only times I noticed this was when I was near the edge of my Wi-Fi range. If I'm using the handheld and mouse at the opposite end of my house from my Wi-Fi access point, I sometimes have problems keeping a reliable Wi-Fi connection. When this happens, I just turn Bluetooth off for a minute while I check my email.

This mouse works together perfectly with the Bluetooth keyboard, which isn't surprising, as they were designed to work together. They even both use the same software driver.

The Bluetooth keyboard comes with a stand. You can see a picture of it in action here. It isn't great, but it works fine.

p.s. If anyone hasn't read my review of the Stowaway Universal Bluetooth Keyboard, you can find it at

Anyone know where the cheapest place is to get the bluetooth mouse, factoring shipping/brokerage charges to Canada. It seems that if its sent UPS the brokerage charges and taxes amount to almost as much as the mouse.
