Slap in the VGA screen and this would have been a perfect device for me. It's got almost everything.

this is certainly an interesting looking device. click on the bottom pic of it, and for some reason it looks alot different than the webpage pic. but the problem here is, if your willing to do with a little less memory, you could get a X30 with the same specs for 1/2 the price. ill just use 1 of my HUGE memory cards to make up for that.

The price you've seen is for the hx2700 - biometric and lots of ROM. Plus, X30 doesn't have CF.

o ok, then THAT warrants double the price. um, ill just wait for the new X50 low which will destroy this price. or even the X50 high with VGA will beat this price.
ive been an Ipaq supporter for the longest time. but their latest line is WAY overpriced. HPs lowest model is more expensive than Dells highest (which spec wise is FAR superior).
and plz dont quote Dells retail price, that thing is on sale every other day for $267. anyone who pays retail for a Dell handheld is clueless. HP just doesnt do that, the price you see is the price you pay.

The last picture on this page is of the hx2700, the version with the fingerprint scanner (right above the D-pad.) The first two pictures are of the other hx2000 series models, without the fingerprint scanner.

Seems rather short-sighted of HP not to make the Hx2000 series VGA. It looks much better than the fugly stuff they recently released. I am rather distressed that so far, none of the PPC manufacturers have come out with a thin, pocketable solution with a VGA screen.
QVGA is really, really, really, old hat and needs to be dumped entirely or relegated to the super bargain bin models. I'm curious as to how well/poorly the new QVGA models are selling for HP? As a long-time PDA user, nothing less than 320 x 480 will suffice on any new handheld!
