Lower res screen and no headphone jack for a mere $50 decrease ... I don't get it aren't electronic products supposed to become cheaper and MORE feature laden....strange decisions

Not just them.
HP will release rz1715, $20 cheaper than H1945, but with 30% bigger in size, half RAM, No IPAQ FILE STORE, NO Bluetooth and a slower processor than H1945.
What do you expect? A totally crazy year. I can see HP will finally pay their price.

I agree, how more expensive could it have been to put a headphone jack on!

I believe I know that their logic is. According to Garmin's web site, the 3200 does not have the MP3-playing capability that the 3600 has, therefore it really has no need for a headphone jack. It DOES have the built-in speaker for the navigation voice prompts, but if you're using the car kit, the sound comes through the car kit instead.

From what I can tell, the only reason Garmin took the MP3 player out is because it left the headphone jack out. Any Palm OS Garnet device like this one is easily capable of running an audio app, but there's not much point in including one if the only way to listen to the music is through the built-in speaker.

I'm curious if the 3200 does any better than its predecessor on battery life. 2 hour battery life for a GPS, regardless of whether or not its part of a PDA, is a deal killer.

The iQue 3200's battery life will almost certainly be at least a bit better than its predecessor's. The backlight on the screen is a major battery drain, and as this new model has a 25% smaller screen, the backlight will surely need less power.

With the iQue 3200:
* I just played a 4 1/2 hour round of golf using Star Caddy GPS
* Read an ebook for a couple of hours
* Played a game for about an hour
* Used the GPS voice commands to travel @ 45 minutes.
I still have about 30% of the battery charge left.
