What Handhelds Does HP Have Up Its Sleeve?
While HP averaged more than one new handheld a month during the second half of last year, rumors are mostly silent about upcoming models. Brighthand is curious about peoples' opinions on what future iPAQs will have to offer.

I don't think they should build one with a built-in MicroDrive. These drives are too flaky and every time one failed the unit would have to go back to HP.

Repeating for those who missed it...
Aw, Ed, this is a cheap ploy to get me to repeat my rumors outside of the forum where I first posted them.
3rd or 4th Q:
5xxx/6xxx series will have VGA screens.
19xx/41xx series will have *HVGA* screens.
Please note that I use the current numerical designators to indicate current *form factors*. These are most likely *not* the numerical designators (model numbers) that will be used then.

Plug the USB sync cable into a PC and the iPAQ acts as a USB drive.

Apologize if I sound like a broken record, but please, please, PLEASE ... offer a follow-on version of the 21xx series with built-in WiFi. Then I won't have to be forced into buying a Toshiba just because I want dual slots (CF and SD, NOT dual SD for pete sake) and a good gaming machine. Although at this point I'd probably go with the ASUS rather than Toshiba anyway.
In priority orider:
1. Put in dual WiFi and BT (with simultaneous operation allowed) just like the 4xxx series.
2. Use a d-pad & button layout like in the 4xxx series
3. Put speaker on front
4. Add better grips
5. Add jog dial on side
Those improvement alone would be enough for a dream machine, but to really fill out the dream add the following;
1. 128MB memory
2. USB host port (USB OTG if supported by WinMobile2004)
3. VGA screen
I don't care if the device needs to be a bit bigger than the original 22xx to accomodate all those features. If customers want a pocketable PPC they have the 4xxx series. Give us a full featured PPC for those who keep the device in belt clip on case and want max compatibility.

This is easy (for me):
I want a device the same size and basic specs as the Zaurus 860 (clamshell design, flip and twist landscape/portrait screen, nice hard keyboard, 640x480 screen rez) BUT with built in BT, wifi, GSM/GPRS (I wouldn't use it as a cell phone, but I like having it as a communications option), WM2004 and at least 128 megs of user accessible memory.
Hurry HP, please!

How about a virtual keyboard for the h6300? Either as a built-in thing or an expansion pack design would be nice.

Since this is turning into more of a wish list than actual predictions, I?ll give my two cents on what I?m looking for. I am tired of caring both my phone and my iPaq. So, I want something that has GSM/GPRS and has a form factor that is a little more phone like than the current Pocket PC Phone Edition devices. I don?t mind if the screen is a bit smaller to accommodate this. I also want a keyboard for entering in emails, SMS etc. Bluetooth and an SDIO slot are also wanted. As far as the rest VGA, WIFI, USB host they would be nice but not necessary. And one final thing, NO CAMERA, I am so tired of manufactures sticking a camera on anything they can. Don?t they get that there a large segment of the population that doesn?t want a camera on the phone/PDA, but enough with that rant. I guess the closest thing out there to what I want is the TREO 600, with a higher resolution screen and Windows Mobile so I have seamless integration with my exchange server.
