The FCC has given Sony permission to release the TJ27 and TJ37. Both of these will have built-in cameras and one, the TJ37, will have built-in Wi-Fi.

Hope they do better than their current TJ-series offerings...

If Sony prices the TJ37 <$350 USD to compete with the Axim X3i, then it will sell like hotcakes!!! Let only hope....

Sony, Sony, Sony...... Hard Grafitti is OVER. Memory Stick is over. 23 meg of free RAM is like so over. It is so obvious that the only purpose of limiting RAM to 23 meg is to sell more memory sticks. It is sad that these have the same resolution screen and camera as a 1 year old Zire 71 and by the time these are out PalmOne will have a new Zire camera model with HVGA, BlueTooth, and a 1.3 megapixel sensor. All with a SD slot that can be filled with 256 MB of storage for $50 or 512 for <$150. while your memory sticks costs far more.

Maybe they will come in five colors!

Good God! More square screens? Hasn't anyone told Sony about the T3?

Not a terribly impressive release. Everything about these devices has been done before - and better - on other models. Sony can't even match the features & functionality of their own quasi-abandoned NX series. RAM is only barely adequate, the hard-graffiti 320x320 square screens are passe, the cameras are crippled (no video?) and MemStick is an insult.

I also can't stand the 'we don't want to come right out and use a d-pad because we didn't invent them' scroll button in the front.

The way I see it, nothing to trade in your Zire71 or Tungsten T|E over. Certainly no competition for an Axim.

The TJ37 will have higher resolution screen and camera which the X3i doesn't have. If priced at an equivalent price point, the TJ37 will be a compelling PalmOS alternative. However knowing Sony, I wouldn't put it past them screw up the price...

These models are, or should be, aimed right at me. I have a Sony NR. I like camera models but want smaller size, more memory, ARM, and OS 5-6.

But what do they offer me? I could get most of what they offer with a Zire 71 or Viewsonic V36. Or I could get a far more capable camera like a $150 Minolta X20 AND a $170 HP 1935 for not much more than the TJ27 might go for. Or course, we don't have prices yet, but I see very little room for Sony to squeeze in a market price for these models.

The dearth of responses here and the agreement between FF, Pix, and moi show how boring these puppies are.

I sure would not have predicted 2 years ago that Sony would be the company playing catchup to Palm......and not doing it very well either.

I'm sorry but the dearth of respones here is more a reflection of the dead front page news section of Brighthand than anything else...

You can always add a (better) camera and the X3i screen is bigger without the clunky hard graffiti. More screen real estate has been preferrable to me since the first 320x320 'SSS' (Small Square Screen) Clies trotted out.

I don't see these devices being compelling enough to sway someone looking at a PPC or PalmOne device. As I said, they just don't seem at all innovative or exciting. Just a TJ with a camera and some exterior color.
