Apologies if this has been asked before,

I guess I want to know, is this first and foremost a Garmin device, that happens to also run Palm OS, meaning it is locked into Garmin maps? Or is it a Palm device that can run any mapping software, not just Mapsource?

I bet my shiny dime Garmin won't release the GPS API and spec to 3rd party developer. (The shaver and razon concept won't work otherwise)

That's pretty much my guess as well...

As I mentioned once before...if you plan on getting this device do not buy through standard retail channels where you buy other PDAs. Instead, buy through Garmin GPS resellers.

You will find that the iQue can be had for about $450 from a popular GPS store. These retailers will not show up on your low price search sites.

Too little? It's only the first and ONLY PalmOS-powered PDA with built-in and fully integrated GPS. I don't know of ANY other manufacturer currently making or planning to make anything like it.

Secondly, even without the GPS, it's still the FIRST non-clamshell (read: non-Sony) Palm PDA with a 320x480 hi-res+ screen and virtual graffiti. THAT also makes it unique. So far, the only other competitor in this regard is the Palm Tungsten T3, and THAT'S merely a rumour at this point.

As far as being "Too Late", obviously the iQue is targeted to a nitch audience, but I think its uniqueness will make it a success.

I agree, it'll be a niche PDA, but i would think it will do okay. Especially for Palm OS afficianados.

I see this as a perfect device for people who do a lot of business travel. It can remind you of an appointment and guide you straight to it.
