Arrow Handspring Unveil Treo 600

After giving a sneak peak of the device last week, Handspring has taken the wraps off its next-generation smartphone with Palm OS 5, a digital camera, and an SD slot.

I must admit, the Treo 600 has very slick and professional looking design. This definitely will be appealing to all the enterprise types out there looking for a convergence device....

Also, can anyone here compare the .27 dot pitch of the Treo600 screen to other devices like the Tungsten T or W? Does this mean the overall sharpness is equal to larger screens of greater resolution?

Default 160x160?

So much for the speculated 320x320 high res screen that was rumoured to be a part of the Treo 600.

That's too bad. While I realize that a smaller screen with 160x160 will APPEAR sharper, it's more of the same old same old...

That, and the fact that it's not available for T-mobile customers: count me out.

I noticed this from the news.com article:

Quote:
According to Shirai, the company could eventually come out with an entire family of models based on the Treo 600, for instance, low-end models with fewer features or higher-end versions with improved multimedia capabilities. He expects carriers to continue selling older devices in the Treo family, such as the Treo 270 and 300, but at lower prices.
I hope "improved multimedia capabilities" means the possibility of higher rez screen or BT perhaps?!

Only 160x160, no Bluetooth, incompatible D-pad! No one can quite get these things right can they?
