I'm going to get the 2215. The Tungsten C that I have been using for 2 weeks now has comparable specs, but some problems.
When the cache builds on the Web browser, fatal errors insue. The sound output is Mono. And I miss the size (4 oz. vs 6 oz.) of my past HP 1910.
The 2215 sounds great , with smaller size, larger screen, stereo, and the IE web browser with all the kinks worked out. I would get the 1900 new model, but the Tungsten C taught me that I want Wi Fi now, and the 2200 series gives me a CF slot.
I can't wait & will likely be PDA-less for a couple of weeks.... let the withdrawl pains begin.

Flowery Branch? Welcome! You know Brighthand's roots are firmly in Atlanta clay, even though I've moved to Tampa.

The 2215 looks like a good choice. I may go the same way. I've got a Symbol Wi-Fi card that works great.

Or...I could go with the 1945 and use the Bluetooth with my T68i cellphone.

Choices, choice, choices.

Default No reason to change 3630

I want connectivity - there's no more than I already have here (unless I go for the really expensive one which I just won't). I ignore bluetooth - no use to me (or many others I dare to say).

I want a jog wheel on the side - this just begs belief, HP are in denial on this one.

So I will still wait until the next real ipaq - i.e the one that breaks some real ground in the usability stakes, like the 3600 did when I bought it all those years ago. Doesn't look like it will be made by HP though.

Hey Steve, thanks for taking the time to put this all together.

I'm sure many people will be interested to see the performance of the 266MHz Samsung CPU on the upcoming 1940 model.

Yes Steve,
I've been following this board for a couple of years through my 2 Sony Clies, and HP 1910. I also was just in Orlando all last week for InfoComm- very Humid...
The 1910 won me over with it's screen & form factor to the "dark side". I sold my 1910 in anticipation of the newer units a month ago. Impatient, I then tried a Tungsten C - not bad, but it has big web browser cache problems. I returned it today. Now the excitement of the hunt (obsession my wife calls it)begins.

I just set up a Wi Fi in my house, that I also work from for the "C" and really enjoyed the wireless fast internet for forums & such. Now I'm wondering if I need to return the WiFi, switch to Bluetooth (I need fast access about 30' range/2 walls) - to get the 1900 form factor? Or go with the 2215 faster processor, 1 more ounce weight , & get a CF WiFi card? Either way It'll be about another $100 cost.
Is there a big difference in Bluetooth/WiFi (b) range or speed?

There is a big difference in both speed and range. I don't even know how, or if, a Bluetooth internet connection between your PPC and PC would work!?!

But you could always get the 1940, and hope the announced SD-WiFi-cards will be available soon! Hopefully with integrated memory! If I'm going to be optimistic, they might be released this fall... (maybe that was too optimistic )

well i am going from the 1940. I have the 5450 an i have learned that a pocket pc is not really usefull if you cant carry it with you all the time. Bluetooth is a must that is why i waited until the 1940 bocome a reality!

Finally i dont use my pocke tpc to play games, only a few to keep me busy if i am in the bus or someting do the lower processor speed will not bother me. the from factor of the 1940 is an amazing thing! i could not beleive my eyes when i saw it next to the 5450 and some other palm devices like the TT.

Exactly !! That's what I missed after trading in my Palm V (which I carried with me all the time), for the iPaq 3850. I now got the 1915, and once again I can carry it with me, and therefore it's all the more useful! And once again my calendar and contacts are updated, as it's always at hand! I love HP's 1900-series! I'm just going to have to wait and see how that Samsung processor performs before considering a 1940 upgrade...

i agree with you thomas, i want to read about the performance with the new processor as well. I hope we are going to see some reviews as soon as these devices hit the market. I hope HP did a good job selecting this processor instead of an xscale, they sure had a reasong and i hope it is a good one!
