Sharp EM ONE: Currently the WM device to beat?
Here's the specs and pics.
Prior to hearing about this device, I thought that only the O2 XDA Flame had the nVIDIA GoForce 5500, but now I'm ready to shove that off the "best Windows Mobile device" spot in favor of the EM ONE. My reasons?
-Also has an nVIDIA GoForce 5500(Intel 2700G, eat your heart out!)
-Also has an Intel PXA270(though it needs overclocking to get back up to 624 MHz or beyond; they also could have used the Marvell PXA320 instead for even more power)
-Also has 128 MB of RAM, no PPCTechs RAM upgrade needed
-Also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
-Also appears to have USB host capability
-Roughly 796 US$ for an unlocked model-contrast to 1100 US$ of the Flame
-It has a thumbboard, and I love thumbboards
-800x480 touch screen; say what about VGA again?
Sadly, it seems to only come in Japanese, and the prices to import one of these will likely make a Zaurus SL-C3x00 seem rather cheap. I'd also have preferred that they use the SL-Cxx00 form factor.
Nevertheless, the hardware is simply unparalleled with the presence of the GoForce 5500 and that extra-wide screen, which could only mean one thing-better emulators and FPS ports! Perhaps this thing will churn though that accelerated Quake III port where the 2700G-based X50v and X51v couldn't keep a constant 30 FPS...(Yes, emulators and FPS ports account for up to half of the reason for me buying a PDA-type device. The other half-Office docs, PIM, Internet browsing-is also very important as well, though, hence why I'd rather get an X50v or this over a PSP or GP2X.)
Now, your thoughts.Current Mobile Computing Loadout:

That's a cool looking handheld, alright. I agree it would have been better as a clamshell, though.

Sweet indeed, and consider mine a third vote for a clamshell. I'd also like to have seen a little more attention to usability on a portrait mode, such as having a directional pad on the front of the device for one-handed use, but oh well. At least somebody is pushing the envelope, and this widescreen VGA thing looks promising.

This seems to be a good time to learn Japanese.

Heh I took that up in high school, being half Korean I thought it'd be easy
"NOT"!!!
OMG Sharp, look over to the west for once. We missed the Sharp W-Zero 3 awhile ago, looks like this isn't going to be in "ENG" anytime soon either.
Is language rom changes easy to have done from Sharp (US/EUR) ?
