    Default odd size sim card

i have a samsung gt-i5800d a regular sim fits in the phone width ways but not length ways and you can feel the springing and the click click sound when inserting or removing 2 in 1 out ...so i thought it was the smaller sim i tried a friends but if i follow the instructions as to how to put it in orientation wise it is very very loose and does not fit proper. the size slot is the same width as the total lenght of the card....does this make any sense??

What type of SIM card came with the device?
Experience is what you get when you thought you were getting something else.

The sim card slot should not have a spring, that's the microSD card slot. The SIM card just slides in, with no spring action. I think you have the wrong slot.
