Default Handwriting recognition expands to new Western and Asian Languages

Nantes (France), April 26th, 2006, Vision Objects, provider of the industry standard in natural handwriting recognition technology, announces today the release of MyScript Builder 4.1, MyScript Form 1.1 and MyScript InkSearch 2.0. These versions feature new functionalities and additional language support enabling system integrators to develop outstanding applications for form processing and note taking in a wide range of Western and Asian languages.

MyScript Builder is Vision Objects’ Software Development Kit (SDK) for the integration of high accuracy handwriting recognition into a vast range of applications: note taking, form processing, mobile messaging and edutainment. Among the new features available, MyScript Builder now supports special characters for indented and numbered lists, Asian circled characters and a new language pack for Norwegian.

On the occasion of the new release of MyScript Builder, the extensions have also been updated. MyScript Form designed for bringing handwriting recognition into form processing applications and MyScript InkSearch that provides the tools for retrieving handwritten content, support Simplified Chinese and Japanese.

Besides traditional language packs, MyScript can use Data Formats to further increase recognition accuracy. Data Formats are particularly appreciated in form processing solutions. In addition to the existing Data Formats pack for US addresses, a new Data Format Pack for Japanese addresses has been released recently.

“The harmonization of the entire MyScript Builder Product line offers new and exciting functionalities that will help our partners get the best out of the handwriting recognition technology available today,” explains Stefan Knerr, CEO and founder of Vision Objects. “We are continuously investing in the research and development of new linguistic resources in order to support our customers’ expansion and to help them develop solutions that stay at the cutting edge of handwriting recognition technology.”
