    Default The Ultimate Handheld

Let's be honest, at least some of us, want the following....

    21" screen.
    Full-sized keyboard.
    2GHz Processor
    100GB HD
    1GB RAM
    Wireless, bluetooth, satellite
    Native GPS
    Phone
    Run Windows/Mac/Palm/Linux simultaneously
    DVD/CD support.
    Surround sound
    USB and Serial ports

Oh, and it needs to fit int he size of an Altoids tin, or preferrably a wristwatch, and cost under $500.

Don't we though? How far can technology take us toward this? Some one has to be out there in a lab somewhere trying to figure out how to make very small huge displays. It's the tension in laptops right now. You've got some the size of movie posters so they can have a big screen and some the size of a small book for portability. Who is going to figure out how to do both?

Holodeck and native biometric interface. Yeah!

Quasi-seriously, I can see Bluetooth "glasses" coming maybe? It would be like a bigger screen....maybe integrate an earpiece sort of like the Oakley "Thump" MP3 players....

You know, I always wondered why the crew on Star Trek ever could get time in the Holodeck...I would think all of the time would be booked up with crew members wanting do, um, do some, um, well, hmmmm, primary native interfacing?
