    Default My Crystal balls

I do not work for Palm, or know anyone that does.

    Access has stated -

    1. would like to incorporate it's NetFront browser into the OS5 Garnet.

    2. Give OS6 Cobalt a second chance.

What I think this means -

    1. look for a 'Windo$e' like OS where everything, and I mean everything, runs thru NetFront like IE does for windo$e.

    2. Free Cobalt for all devices that support it as a good will gesture. Look for it in the next few weeks.

I think once we mere mortals find out about these things, then a second chance stage is way in the past... like early-closing shows that suddenly everyone flocks to see, there's another company already waiting in the wings, as it were.

Personally I think they just wanted to have complete control over the OS on the phones they target with their browser.

Instead of making the browser work with many different OS's, they can now sell a phone manufacturer a complete package of OS with standard features, plus the Netfront browser they are already known for integrated into that OS.

This alleviates some support and development issues for them, and gives the manufacturers and end users a more consistent experience.
