Best WIFI 802.11b PDA???? Web pages, email,
I need a wireless PDA!!! Last week my school got brand new WIFI (802.11b ) network. I dont want a laptop (too big), so I decided that I will purchase a pda.
I don’t really care what brand or OS (palm or Pocket pc ect). I just want your opinion guys. I will be using it to web browsing, email, AIM, and paying movies...
I was lying towards Sony CLIÉ PEG-UX50, but I read that web browsing in this pda is very difficult (is that true??).
So what is the best (in $450 range), wireless PDA???
Thanks so much for your help!!
Sebastian

Web browsing on a small screen isn't great, but it's enough to check favorite web sites, read email, etcetera.
For WiFi, the Dell Axim X30 is a good choice. It starts at around $240 for the mid-range 312 MHz model, $270 for the high-end 624 MHz. If you wanted to go a little higher, the X50v will be shipping soon with a four times higher resolution screen that makes web browsing easier. It runs around $450-$500.

In that $450 range, the rx3715 and X30 are good bets on the PPC side. ON the PalmOS side, the Tungsten C and TH55 (if you can still find one) are good bets as well. THe TH offers the best battery life and screen resolution and you might find staying with the PalmOS a bit easier. I am not sure if it does landscape though. The WinMobile devices perform well, good battery life, but I personally do not like the complexities of the OS versus the features. Hope that helps you some.
Peace and Blessings

The TH55 is nice, but it's almost impossible to find these days. First Sony pulled out of the international market, then Palm OS users dissatisfied with PalmOne's failure to unclude WiFi on the T5 started snapping up all the remaining available TH55s. They're practically a collector's item at this point.

Other handhelds with a VGA screen like the e805 are the HP iPaq 4700, the Dell Axim X50, and two slightly lesser known brands: the Asus A730 and the Loox v720. There's also the Zaurus SL-6000, which runs Linux.
$350 for the e805 is a pretty good deal. Even though it lacks the dual wireless of most of its competitors, it's the cheapest you'll find for a VGA PocketPC.

The version of the e805 that was sold in North America does have WiFi, but does not have Bluetooth.
I ver much like my X50v. If you'd like more information on it we have a full review here:
