Kind of hung up on using the Samsung Omnia for a PDA solution for a POS or the HP ipaq 211.
    Virtually the same specs.

Thanks lelisa, and everyone who has helped with my quest. The T|X is indeed a joy to use for reading, but I found that I really have gotten used to the screen on the Zire. So, the T|X has become hubby's favorite book (it served as a belated birthday present), and he absolutely loves it.

Grand to hear that your household is happy with a Palm of one sort or another. As demonstrated by my sig, I obviously couldn't choose if I had to.

What would be a good pda for an 8 year old? Scholastic books has one for $18 that has an FM radio and some other things. I'm sure it's a piece of junk and will have her crying in a few hours because it's broken.

Is there a cheap-ish pda type device out that would have music, a calendar, maybe a to do, dictionary for under $50.

I'd look on eBay, but I'm not sure which if any of the off brands or brands that are now out of the market are any good.

She doesn't have a phone and I don't intend to get her a phone for another couple years. I want to see her use and take care of this first.

    Any suggestions?

    thx in advance !!!
It is easy to find a site to buy PDA or PPC. You can search it in search engines. If you want to get a PDA or PPC with high performance and cost ratio. The better and faster way is visit comparison sites.
    Good Luck!

    Default 64-bit windows 7

lenovo and dell, to name a few mfrs, are pushing 64-bit systems.

palm tx not compatible with 64.

given the paucity of pdas now available. i would be grateful for advice on whether to move to 64 bits; find a simple solution for my tx to work smoothly with 64 bits; or stick with 32 bits until microsoft ends its support.

does anyone know if palm has officially ended production and sales of pdas?

Yes, production of all Palm's PDAs has ceased. Any new units you see for sale have been on the self for a while.
