Default Anyone want a Palm TX?

Here's the deal. I'm cleaning up, and trying to get rid of some of the completely unused gadgets that I have. One of those is a Palm TX. Used to be mine, then I loaned it to my father, and when I upgraded him to a cheapie Android tablet it's been sitting on my shelf ever since. Still works, has a horizontal wear line about two thirds of the way down the digitizer, but that's not too big a deal. I think I may even have a replacement digitizer for it around here somewhere.

I could try to sell it, but frankly I don't think that the $30 I'd get for it on eBay would be worth the time and effort. So, I figured I'd post it here. I know there's still a lot of TX fans out there, and for good reason. I'd keep it myself, but there's no point since it'll just sit on the shelf. So, would anyone like a used but functional TX to play with?

A member here (Glennski) who has been working with a used T5 recently mentioned in a post that he would love to find a TX after reading about how much users like it. I sent a PM to him with this link.

Cool. I should also note I have the USB cradle for it, retractable sync/charge cable, and I'm sure I have the regular sync cable around here somewhere but I can't find it right this second.

A thoughtful and considerate offer, A!

Wasn't there a thread in OT a while back in which folks were offering up their retired or otherwise unused stuff, sort of a "Pay It Forward" type thing? Probably closed due to age now, but I'm sure a helpful mod could reopen it.

    Just a thought...

Somedays it's not even worth chewing through the restraints...

Nice offer. I'm still casually looking for a T3 in good shape to mess around with if anyone is ever getting rid of one. Someone here a while ago threw their T3 away and never responded to my inquiry about it. Just thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, we had something like that... actually I think I might have done it, an idea stolen from another forum. As I recall it sort of died for lack of a clear plan.

I wouldn't be surprised if I end up finding some more stuff in need of new homes, so keep eyes peeled. No T3s, sorry Varjak. I think trading a T3 was how I got the TX actually.

How thoughtful, Adama. I would have said yes, but something changed in the package-delivery-shipping business and I haven't been able to place several deals across the border for the better part of the year. I would have paid for the shipping, but I have to get sure that I can receive something in the first place. And, there are wishful recipients much closer to you

We should reopen that Pay it Forward thread. IIRC, it was one of the BH younglings who opened it. AuthorAndrew, or NamelessPlayer, perhaps. Come to think of, they're not that younglings anymore

I'd give Glennski 24 hours in order for him to have time to receive notification of the PM that I sent.

I will look for the PIF thread and reopen it if feasible.

UPDATE: The thread was automatically closed because more than two years have passed since the last post of any kind (a comment in April 2010) and the last post containing any items was in January 2010. Reopening it would be confusing because of the time lapse. The original thread is in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum.
