    Default palmlllxe question

    hi
I have a problem with chesspad and tiger chess on the palm lllxe
the white pieces are dark and the black pieces are light.
doses anyone know how to change this it seems to be this way for all chess programs
the thing is I haven't used this in a long time but I remember this worked normal before. (no settings in either program to change the shading of the pieces.)
thanks in advance for any help with this problem

    Welcome to Brighthand, tom233

Does this happen only when the backlight is on, or does it happen at all times? If it's the second, then I'm not sure what it is, but if it is the first (if it only happens when backlight is on) then this is an effect of the way the palm's backlight works. Essentially, the backlight will illuminate the black pixels on the screen (i.e. text, icons, the black pieces), while the rest of the screen, such as the background and the white pieces are not illuminated, and thus appear dark. This effect is also visible when you view photos on monochrome palms: the photos will appear as a negative image when the backlight is on. Easiest way to correct this is to install a "hack" called InvertHack, which will invert the way the backlight works. With it, the black pieces will not be illuminated (wil remain dark) and the white pieces will be illuminated. You can find InvertHack and the required hack manager (such as X-Master) at freeware-palm.com

    Hope this helps.
