Bottom line Aceeca, bring it on and please keep us updated. I, for one, am still very interested.
Heeheehee. I know that. Actually, I want him to sell harder.

Actually there is one thing I have been a little secretive about - as the boss I got to have the final say on the specs, so I had the engineers include a high power infrared diode along side the standard transceiver. I am fed up with all the remote controls I have and the so called universal remotes. I am starting a project soon for an open source development of a decent touch screen universal remote. Novi Remote and others did a reasonable job - I think with the right hardware it can be done better. I don't really care if no -one else is interested as long as I get a good remote at the end of the day. Its all about me.

Quick update on further info - our web guy has to post the various items so should all be on our website by Monday morning US time. Let me know if anything is not covered and I will see if I can answer your questions.
    Cheers
    Alex.

Thanks, Alex. Looking forward to it, whether Monday or later in the week.

A bit of Googling yielded some snarky comments on Engadget. Apparently the good folks over there have no appreciation for rugged devices.
In my line of work, a bit of extra bulk is a small price to pay for a reliable device.

Engadget prizes itself for following the current trend, so anything out of the latest and flashy is dubbed as useless or obsolete. I like Engadget's articles, but sometimes they turn their site into something like an e-Cosmopolitan of gadgets, you ain't fashion and trendy? you ain't getting a favorable review. Too much e-glamour for my taste. Well, maybe that's why I better read Gizmodo, trendy or not they ain't taking anything serious anyway

In both my preferences and my line of work, ruggedness pays back on day one. You're never too protected. The extra bulk is only an issue on the days I'm wearing suits, and maybe that's why God gave me business cases (cause I'm so skinny that a common cellphone under the jacket spoils the overall appearance, thus in those days I carry all my gadgets in a hand case). As for the rest of the week I'm wearing denim or cargo pants, and then that's why God gave me belts and belt holsters

Yes, I love sleek and cool as much as anyone else, but my primary criteria is function. Clunky and functional wins every time over cool and useless.

I love my Nexus One and am quite happy with Android, but if I were still on my TX I'd actually be giving this a serious look, depending on price.

Uh, no, disagree. That's the best way to get stashed into The Zone. "Oh, yes I love you, but I love you as a friend"... Yuck, been there quite a number of times and no girl is finding me cute and handy anymore, instead of handsome or plain repulsive. [Female falsetto voice] "Oh, hal, you're such a nice guy, thanks for fixing the shelves, smooch-smooch-smooch now I'm going out with Mr. Treats_Me_Bad cause I find him soo manly". Back on-topic, I also prefer function over form.
