    Default Treo 650 firmware upgrade

    Can the firmware for the 680p or the 700p be loaded on the Treo 650 and if it is how dificult is it to accomplish?

    No it cannot. It's impossible.

    Welcome to Brighthand, quietstrm98!

    There are several ROM update for the 650 but they are intended to fix bugs or make incremental improvements and none of them will give you the functionality of the 700p. Be very careful with ROM updates as they are specific to certain carriers. Your phone could be ruined by applying the wrong update. There are ROM tools available for the 650, but they are not for the faint of heart. They allow you to do things like replacing the FAT 16 sd driver with a FAT 32 version, or removal of useless programs like wireless sync or addit. But I find it easy to hide these unwanted icons using Zlauncher and I'm not eager to start tampering with my ROM. The biggest payoff could be the ability to handle SD cards larger than 2 gig, but I'm willing to limp along with 2 gig rather than deal with tinkering with my ROM.

    Which 700p features were you wanting to get? There may be some 3rd party program that solves your problem and is either free or low cost.
