Default Help needed identifying curent PDA

HI folks finaly found a good PDA site / forum that seems alive (so many seem to have nothing in the last 6 months).

I know this is a pain and yet another 'help me choose' thread, but I have been unable to find anything to guide me (am a hardend hardware buyer).

My problem is this I need a device (tablet PC would Be god but to big and waaay to expensive) that will make a very good ebook reader, allow me to use chat programs (IRC) while not at one of my workstations, and work extreemly well as a GPS unit (would rather built in GPS than external).

I have looked around but most reviews seem to be at least a year old and I have not found any way of comparing current models easily (to many manufacturers).

Additionally although price is not to important I do not realy wnat to spend more than £300 ($600) and idealy £150 ($300).

Now wifi is a must to be honest IRC but I have no need at all for phone functionality.

I have seen the Asus Mypal A636 and looks good (battery conectability GPS) but it does not have a high res screen and am worried that this will make IRC hard to use and the device impratical for lnog hours reading (I have a subscription to www.safaribooks.com).

Would any one be able to point out perhaps any other devices I may have over looked, and give me some advice on how well PDA's may suit my requirements.

    Thanks
    Jamie.

    Jamie.
I have found that the iQue3600 will fit the bill very nicely as a PDA/GPS unit, from Garmin. In fact there a thread on this board dedicated to Garmin with the discussion primarily slant on the iQue products.

It does have a SDIO slot, so it maybe possible to incorporate a WiFi sd card?? but not 100% certain.

The TX would fit the bill for the other functions.

Within your price range, you culd obtain a new TX and a used or recondition iQue3600 and likely be under budget if stay with the PalmOS.

I am not certain of PPC functions combining both, but it may be avaialble?

Best of luck with your quest.
