    Default DivX encoder for PocketPC

Hi ! I'm a french guy (BTW excuse-me for my mistakes in English) and I've developped a soft in order to encode any movie (AVI/DivX, MPG, VOB, OGM) to DivX with some parameters optimized for viewing the clip on a PocketPC (landscape mode, low CPU usage, increased brightness, ...). The soft is Freeware (under the GPL licence) and it is really faster than VirtualDub (6 times on my computer to reencode a DivX movie !!). The movies created can be viewed with the PocketPC player "PocketMVP" (it is DivX video with MP3 audio).

The soft is dedicated to beginers AND to advanced users :
    - for beginers it has a simple interface, it needs no third party software or codec, ...
    - for advanced users it provides a way to get rid of those parameters you have to set in VirtualDub and it allows a really FASTER compression.

This thread is not an advert for my soft : it is still in developpment, so I don't want it to be spread too much by now. But I've written in this forum in order to ask if some people could be interested in testing it... Some french people have already tested it, and it surely still contains some bugs, but since I had made an English version of the soft, I wanted to get English-speaking people involved if it was possible !

Note that the soft contains some code taken from some other GPL projects like "mencoder", so it will remain completely FREE. So if you want to test it, it can be downloaded from this site

Hi I have a problem with this program. When I convert a video file, be it mpg or avi, to a file in avi using the default mencoder, this avi file, when played in my pocketmvp gives greenish blocks, but the sound is ok.

I tried playing this file in my desktop PC and it works fine.

But if i convert to ogm using virtualdubmod, it works perfectly on my pocketmvp. Wat's the problem??

Perhaps you don't use the latest version of PocketMVP... The latest version is known as "18012004" and it is downloadable on Mark Dukette's site (follow the link that is on my site...)

Can you tell me if the problem is solved ?

Since the thread linked above in the General PPC forum is current (seven pages at the moment), this thread isn't necessary. I'll lock it to avoid the confusion of further posting here .

Anyone interested in the discussion should go to the thread linked by Wildelnab above. Thanks.
Returned to the Palm fold for the first time since 2001 with the arrival of my Treo 680.
