    Default T|X and Laptop

Hello guys, im speaking from Brazil so i apologyze for the poor English.

Here?s the situation: I had a perfectly working Ad-Hoc Wi-Fi Lan between my Desktop and my Laptop. Last week i bought a Palm T|X (802.11b) and configured it so i could synchronize it with my desktop...wireless that is.

Yesterday i had a problem with my video card, so now im working just with my Laptop. Im using a Broadcom bcm94306mp 802.11b/g Mini-PCI Wi-Fi card on it.

The problem is that now my palm top wont recognize the Wi-Fi signal of my laptop. I configured an Ad-Hoc LAN on the laptop over a dozen times in all kinds of ways and it wont work...

Im using Windows XP SP1 and already tried to install SP2...no firewall active.

Just to illustrate, here are my Laptop Wi-Fi Card characteristics:

    BCM94306MP - Broadcom IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless Internal Mini-PCI Card
    - IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g draft
    - 802.11b: 11, 5.5, 2, 1 Mbps
    - 802.11g: 54, 48, 36, 24, 18, 12, 9, 6 Mbps
    - Infrastructure and Ad Hoc

If someone could give me a light here i will certainly appreciate it!!!

    Thx a lot!!

your video card should have nothing to do with it......if your T|X can connect to your Desktop, with the proper IP address that should be all you need, your desktop will connect to the Internet, your laptop will connect to the desktop/router and your T|X should just connect to your router, In my case, my desktop as a static IP, my laptop has a static IP, and my T|X has a static IP, all connect independently of each other,,,,,,,,,,,Rich

Thanks for the help! I know my video card is not the problem! That was on the desktop, and im not using it anymore.

Here it is how it works now:

Laptop with Wifi Card and DSL Connection

    + (ad hoc)

    Palm T|X

The problem is that the Palm TX isnt recognizing the WiFi signal from my Laptop.
I dont have any kind of routers, just my laptop and a DSL modem. All i want to do is connect my Palm TX to my Laptop and surf the web with it.

It used to work just fine with my Desktop...but now, i cant find where the problem is.

    Thanks again ppl!
