I may have missed this in the 16 pages, LOL, but it appears to me that for making phone calls bluetooth to a headset is still the way to go, you know more cool factor to talk into the air versus a PDA at my ear, assuming background noise is an issue (?).

On the other hand voice memo is the real attraction with the microphone. Someone mentioned in this thread the adoption of a sound out why would the 3.5mm headphone jack not be sufficient?

My guess is that the headphone jack is not wired for a mic. I did read somewhere hear where a fellow BHr wrote that as long as the hardware was present, any shortcoming could be overcome with software. It was along these lines that I was thinking that maybe a bluetooth headset with a mic could be used for recording sound, but I could be all wrong. It just seems logical to me.

I beleive that sony-ericsson has such a headset for telephony, hmmm!

I use my TX to do sound out through our church sound system. I simply unplug the lapel mike form the wireless transmitter, and plug the TX in with a mini-jack cable from the headphone jack to the transmitter, and bam, I get full use of the house sound system.

I use it mainly for our band to practice new songs, sounds just as good as my iPod, but my wife likes to hog it ...

Again, I think the clip-on mic is a good tool but I was quesitoning using it for the phone and sound-out. I'm assuming that even using VOiP service provider for best coverage and efficiency a cell phone is still required, eh?

If I may interject, I found a microphone that you just plug into the multi connector here: http://www.palminfocenter.com/news/8...ophone-module/. This is the second generation microphone. The first one is here:

    http://www.palminfocenter.com/news/8...al-mic-review/

They keep complaining that the foam on the second generation one is cheep and tears, exposing the electronics of the microphone. The first generation one is flat-out huge compared to the second one, but it's encased in plastic and looks sturdier. Both of them have a good connection to the multi connector (the guy could pick up his T|X by the mic!) and have decent sound quality. They both can be bought here: http://home.earthlink.net/~gmayhak/catalog.html, the first generation, which is called Microphone module for TX & T5 Palms for $14.95, and the second, which is called Tiny Microphone for T|X for $24.95. They also have a thing they call a TX adapter for Treo 2.5mm Stereo hands-free headset. I think it gets any old 2.5 mm headset and makes it work on the T|X. It's $17.95.

I'm too lazy to read all 17 pages of this thread to see if someone's already put this there. That's pretty lazy, but I got a cold today and I feel lower than a bowlegged caterpillar.

If you want the best mic, pick one up from wyrenut. He is the original maker and the idea belongs to him, not Tech Labs. Seems to me it makes more sense to go with the best rather than a copy cat wannabe.
