PocketTunes cant see my OGG files
On switching my SD card from a T3 to my new TX. PocketTunes cant see my OGG files (i.e. from the PocketTunes app) on my SD card. However, when I list files in ZLauncher I see them?. Is there a setting or something I need to set in order to OGG format files?.....

I believe you need to download the oog codec from pockettunes.com
If I weren't on my TX, I would post link, bt is easy to find.Hook's Stories

The OGG plug-in is not available for the basic version of Pocket Tunes that came with the TX. You must upgrade to the deluxe version in order to use the OGG plug-in.
Actually, you can download the trial version in order to use the OGG plug-in, however, after 15 days the WMA and MP3 plug-ins will not work and you'll get the nagging 'please buy' notice.Palm history: IIIx > IIIxe > Zire 31 > TX

Ugg!... :-) I had hoped that I was done with the "buy me" pop-up as I was using Pocket-Tunes (for free) to play OGG files on my old T3.
Does the download basic version give any added benifit over the TX preloaded version?

I may be wrong and I'm currently on the road and I don't have any Ogg files to test. However, according to THIS page at Pocket Tunes, the basic version does play Vorbis (why would one charge extra for open source?). Also, I downloaded the Vorbis Plugin from THIS page and added it to Pocket Tunes (the one that comes on my TX) and it did not give me any popup or warning. Maybe it will down the road, but assuming that we have the basic version on the TX, it shouldn't, unless the TX version is more hobbled than the online "Basic" version.Originally posted by waybar

You could switch to using aeroplayer to play the .ogg files - it is free and no annoying pop=ups

open source means open source or under the GPL (general public license) u can do just that...if u take a closer look at many palm programs, many are based on others and sometimes if u really search the web items under GPL that are the same can be found free while another site may charge for it...(why would one charge extra for open source?).
for more info on GPL please visit the following link...

I had the same problem with OGG with the built in pTunes. I tried downloading and installing the OGG library and it just won't work (as if its not there) though it used to work with the basic downloaded version on my Zire 71.
My conclusion? The pTunes built-in the TX is crippled more than the basic one.
Like somebody already said, AeroPlayer plays OGG for FREE and nag free. The registration is only applicable to the MP3 plugin (and some other plugin can't recall which), so if you install AeroPlayer with only the OGG plugin you are good to go.

I'm fairly confident that TCPMP also has the OGG codec available for installation - it comes in the TCPMP download folder.
TCPMP is free and also allows for some video playback too - unlike Pocket Tunes.Zaurus (retired)

It does, indeed. All my music is currently in ogg format and I use TCPMP.Originally posted by MleB
