    Default versamail and autochecking mail

ok so i've got versamail up and running. it pops to my acct, and smtp is working great.

i do not do any sync w/ my computer, and i dont' want to.

now, i want versamail to check my mail automatically. i'd prefer it to auto turn on, connect to my wfi, and check my mail, and turn itself back off, or at least automatically check it self say every 5 min when the unit is on.

i tried teh autosync feature in the options, but it keeps giving me some error msg or something that just doens't work (i'll try to remember what it says next time). i think myabe autosync just hotsyncs, or soemthing.

anyway, can versamail do this? am i msising something? is there another app i should be looking at?

    thanks

yeah im looking at snapper mail, but for what i want, it costs 60 bucks :/ and it comes w/ like all these other apps i dont' want .and if you want the cheap version that doens't come /w the extra apps, it has limited mail functionality.

do they offer a enterprise version (w/ all the mail features they have listed) w/o all the other stuff, at a lower cost?

regardless, i want to be sure versamail can't do this before i drop more money on software.

Versamail works fine for what you are asking for. I have had mine set up to connect to two different accounts automatically, each with their own schedule.

Post the error, and I bet somebody will be able to help you.

yeah i tried it again last night. it seems like versamail has this feature i want.

if my unit is off, it'll trn on, connect to wifi, and then it'll immediatly say "versamail failed to get new mail" or something similar to that. It was fast enough that it wouldn't have even tried. Im thinking maybe it was trying before it was connected to the net.

I will try again to see if it'll autocheck while im already connected to wifi, but i'd still need to fix the issue w/ it being off.

does no one else have this issue?

on that same note, say you don't have wifi, but your connecting through your bluetooth phone on an Edge network.

Can you tell versa or snappermail to log you on and get your mail. This would be just as good as push email for me.

    Darrin.
