TX avail in Miami Airport?
I'll be going through transit in Miami Intl Airport in 2 weeks and I'd like to purchase the TX at the US price point.
Does anybody know if it is possible to buy Palms there? And do they have the TX yet? Do they normally over-charge for Palms at airports?
Thanks.

I don't know about anywhere else, but the Philadelphia Airport store is just a little closet where they keep some PDA inventory.
They had the Lifedrive there a few days after it was announced, so they should have the T|X by the time of your flight.
AFAIK, they charge the regular suggested retail ($299 for the T|X) and will charge sales tax of the local rate.

I'm charging my new T|X that I picked up at the Palm kiosk in downtown San Francisco while others were buying Treos. They charged the MSRP of $299 plus local sales tax ($25.42 here). If you can change your flights to go through Atlanta, they have two locations at the airport.

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately my connection to Madrid is only available via Miami. I'll just have to wait and see if Miami has the TX in stock.Originally posted by Dick Tracy

Fingers crossed!

You may be able to call them and see if they will hold one for you when you arrive - that way even if it's not in stock they may have time to order one for you and have it waiting there in Miami when you arrive.
It's a thought.

Thanks for the tip - although I didn't see it until today and now it's probably too late to call...Originally posted by reverendjough

Anyway, I'll have to see if Miami Airport is open tomorrow. It looks like Wilma has picked up speed and by the time I'll reach Miami tomorrow (around 3pm) things will have settled down. Otherwise I guess the plane will divert to a different airport.
According to TV, things really look rough in Florida right now. Hopefully not many people will get hurt...z e n t r o

I suspect that Wilma will be long gone by the time you get to Miami, but if you're diverted to anywhere it's likely to be the Atlanta airport, where there are two Palm stores.

Is this a test of my devotion to Palm? Is someone testing me to see if I'm hoping for a Wilma slowdown in order for my plane to get diverted to Atlanta?Originally posted by Ed

Dammit, I didn't get to land in Miami as the airport was still closed. Got a plane to Madrid via Costa Rica and none of those places had the TX.
Now, I'll have to buy the TX at European prices, which means that I'll have to pay a premium of around USD 140.
Oh well, I'll live.
