It Gave Up the Ghost!
My TX just gave up the ghost. I'll go further. The power is on and I can see the screen; however, nothing happens when I tap on an icon. I've done a soft reset but all that happens is that it returns to the Preferences Date & Time screen and nothing happens if I tap on 'Done'. I can't do a hard reset because the on/off switch doesn't function. At the very worst, I'd like to erase my data files. I think that the digitizer is broken or worn out. Anyway any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Have you tried removing screen protector if using one?

Re: It Gave Up the Ghost!
Thanks for those suggestions DT and Nine. I've tried both and neither works. I'm lucky in that I have another TX to carry on with, so I can access all my info. Unfortunately, I now have a dead TX with a lot of info on it -- can you suggest a way I can destroy that info, please.

Re: It Gave Up the Ghost!
does the TX respond to the 5-way navigator? or other hard buttons? if yes, there is at least one hard reset software utility: http://www.palmpowerups.com/download...download_id=23
so, if the 5-way works, you can load the utility to an SD card and hopefully it'll run from there. I'm not sure how one could go about copying to main memory just using the 5-way (unless, of course, you can Hotsync).
good luck, let us know how things turn outMy useful BH links -- BH FAQS/repair options/digitizer discussions
