Default If You Use TX & Public "Free" Wi-Fi Networks, READ THIS!

My success rate in connecting with public web services went from almost zero to almost 100% when I changed my Blazer preferences thusly:

    Preferences -> Page tab -> Start With: |Blank Page|

This seems necessary to allow most services' log-in or greetings pages to show.

It is most helpful on the TX as many site support pages for terms acceptance do not recognize the Blazer browser and can not render the terms so a TX user can proceed onto a WiFi connection point.

    To access the setting -
    Open Blazer.
    Select the drop down,
    Select Options.
    Preferences.
Then change the line - Start With via the drop down to - Blank Page

Then close via a tap to the OK button.

Yup - yup damn fine tip - I couldn't get to the airport's wifi until I followed this suggestion. I was able to get on the Aloha Airlines Wifi - but sadly there's no Aloha any longer - guess they were paid up...

    Just a note on this:
If you could not get to the Hotel, Airport etc Homepage to LogIn and so then did what was suggested above and changed to
    Menu>Options>Preferences>Page
    and selected, StartWith: BlankPage

It may (or may not) be necessary that you start again from the beginning, so:

    1) Exit Blazer and tap the WiFi Icon on the BottomBar and make sure it is Off.
    2) Launch Blazer then tap the WiFi Icon again and turn On.
    3) Scan for or choose the Airport/Hotel name.
    4) Tap Connect
If the Homepage does not come on screen then:
    5) Launch a BookMark eg: Google
Hopefully the Homepage will come up and you can login

If you get to the Homepage but you still have a problem with seeing the LogIn text box or maybe the Go/Submit button, then:
    1) Blazer>Menu>Options>Preferences>General>FastMode
    2) Tick 'Disable cascading style sheets' and exitMenu.
    3) Tap the LightningBolt icon on the TopBar and make sure 'FastMode' is selected.
NOTE: You may have to 'RefreshPage' (CircleArrows icon on the TopBar) or even start again from the beginning (see above)
The Login text box or Go/Submit button should show after doing this

Sounds like a pain and sometimes it is but these Homepages are usually not designed with Blazer in mind just for people with Laptops/Notebooks.

    Happy travels

All the best, woz of oz

I have the TX but I can't find any Blazer program to alter my settings. What is this program and where do you get it? Thanks!

    Welcome to BrightHand rsw

It is not a program but, as noted above, is a feature within the Blazer Menu.

    Launch Blazer (Web)
    Tap the Menu icon
    Select Options
    Select Preferences

Then you will be in 'Page'
Tap the arrowhead to the right of 'Start With:'
Select 'Blank Page' from the dropdown list.

You may want to have a look at Blazer Tips and Tricks for more info

Note, as Woz pointed out, the icon for the program doesn't say "Blazer" but says "Web." Web = Blazer.
