TX & iQue 3600 don't play nice?
I remember reading in some old posts that some of you also have an iQue3600 so I'm hoping you can answer my question. I believe the posts also addressed this problem but now I can't find them.
I've had the iQue over a year, bought for it's GPS capabilities since I have no natural sense of direction and I have it synced to my desktop using the Palm Desktop that came with it. I recently bought a TX (iQue battery life limited it to strictly use when docked, although a recent battery upgrade has helped it immensely) and was syncing it to my desktop as well with no problems. I decided to sync the TX to my laptop and that's when the problems started.
I downloaded the new version of Palm Desktop to my laptop and synced to the TX on first try and every time since. I read alot, usually ebooks and I had downloaded several new ones to my desktop that I wanted to transfer to the TX - the TX connected OK, synced as far as Mobipocket and froze...at first I thought it was just taking awhile to sync the ebooks, but after about 30 minutes I tried canceling the sync, no response, so pulled it off the cradle, and did a soft reset and now it won't connect to the desktop at all. Just a FYI... there were only about 20 ebooks, not even a meg so it's not like I had a huge library to sync. I copied them over to the laptop and they all synced in minutes.
So my question is (took the scenic route getting to it
) can I sync the TX to both versions of Palm Desktop or do I need to uninstall the new version on the laptop and replace it with the Garmin version?
Don't know if it matters but I'm running WinXP on the desktop, the laptop came with (yuck) Vista Basic.
Thanks for any help...Last edited by cntryfan; 03-09-2008 at 11:18 PM.

The issue is Vista (which I will not use) and the Vista Desktop from Access, which has less features than the XP compatible version on the TX CD.

Re: TX & iQue 3600 don't play nice?
Why doesn't that surprise me? Can't say I overly impressed with Vista.
Unfortunately, I bought my TX used and I don't have the TX CD...
I think I'll try switching to the Garmin version on the laptop and see how that goes. I really would like to be able to sync to both and switching the laptop to XP would require buying a new XP CD since I've used all my "installs" on my current CD and now have to call Microsoft to get it activated and they were kind of snippy about it the last time. My computer, unfortunately, is a "work in process" and my favorite form of troubleshooting (I HATE troubleshooting!) is "format C:"
Thanks for your help!
