Problems transferring and playing songs on Palm TX
I've been reading some other posts, and saw that others have had this same problem. But the fix didn't seem to work for me. I'm hoping someone will have a new suggestion. I installed rhapsody, but it won't recognize my pda, nor will media player. I tried transferring songs directly to my SD, which seemed to work, but pockettunes only recognizes a folder (the album title) and doesn't show any songs listed to access. Can anyone suggest what to do next? Thanks. Pam

Re: Problems transferring and playing songs on Palm TX
As I said in the other thread, neither Rhapsody, Windows Media Player, nor any other program will recognize your Palm and transfer files to it. There are some programs that will mount your Palm as a drive, but it's cheaper and faster to use a card reader. Are you sure you transferred the mp3 files to the SD card? Are you sure they were mp3, and not wma or something else? Pocket Tunes should find the music files anywhere on the card, if they're really there, and really mp3 files. It should also play .ogg files, if you have the plugin for that.

Stan

The best way to do this is explained in Palm® Support Knowledge Library article 29018 "Listen to music on your device."

Re: Problems transferring and playing songs on Palm TX
Thanks for your responses. Ok, I'll give up on trying to transfer files via rhapsody and media player. Now if only I could just get them onto the SD card. I checked the format of the songs I dragged and dropped, and they were mp3. Pockettunes won't recognize the songs, and now it isn't even recognizing that there is a SD card in my TX. Would it make sense to try realplayer for Palm? I saw that option under the Palm info page linked, but there was no link from there to an option to download it. Anyone know where to get Realplayer for Palm (didn't come on my cd-rom)? Thanks. Pam

Re: Problems transferring and playing songs on Palm TX
TCPMP and Aeroplayer are decent mp3 players for Palm. IMO Realplayer sucks big wind. It may be better now, as I haven't tried it in a long time, but it really, really turned me off when I tried it.
I'm not sure what the problem is with your SD card. Sometimes taking it out and reinserting it makes the Palm recognize it. It's possible it's a bad card, or needs formatting, but that's not the most likely problem. I would try taking the card out, soft resetting the TX, and then reinserting the card before doing anything drastic.Regards,
Stan

Re: Problems transferring and playing songs on Palm TX
ok, it's recognizing the card again but still no songs. I downloaded an update for pocketplayer, but that didn't help. Do I need to do some formatting- like create a separate audio folder? I'm new to sd cards, so I'm clueless about this....

Re: Problems transferring and playing songs on Palm TX
With TCPMP, of course, you can put your music files anywhere and browse to them within TCPMP.

Actually, Pocket Tunes will find mp3s anywhere. It will look first in the audio folder, ut it will also search the whole card. Pockt Tunes always finds my mOcean MP3s and they are really hidden away.

Re: Problems transferring and playing songs on Palm TX
argghhh...this is so frustrating. The card is formatted, and there is a music folder (it automatically created it as music, should I edit and change to audio?) I've tried transferring the tracks once again, and still it only sees the album name and no tracks. It's a polaroid 1 G SD card....could it be the card?
