Question Palm TX Hints, Tricks and Suggestions Wanted ...

Thanks to a lot of good advice I've gotten here, I've taken the plunge and my new Palm TX is heading my way. So in about a week it will be out here. I'm upgrading from a Palm III, so I have lots to learn.

In the meantime, I'd like to learn some of those hints, kinks and tricks that all you experienced TX pilots have learned from using your TX.

Your recommendations about software, games (I like games!), configurations, cases, screen protectors and accessories will be really appreciated. Please let me know what I need to know to get the most out of my new Palm TX.

    Mahalo nui loa !!

Before you go downloading tons of software, learn your machine. Learn its ins and outs. How to "maneuver" through it.

Congrats on your TX!!!! You'll love it! Just take your time....

Lots of the built-in software has changed, read the manual to get acustom to the changes. Graffitti has changed allot, it is a two-stroke system now instead of a one-stroke, and there is an in-built delay waiting for a second stroke even when you issued a one stroke character, do a search for Graffitti 2 to learn more.

Your going to luv that TX.

Good luck with the TX you're gonna love it. Most important, check the TX software compatibility list before installing any third party apps (even ones that worked fine on your previous model. Oh, and RTFM of course.

Be sure to read the Best Free TX Apps thread while you're waiting.

If you're an upgrade, also read the Upgrade thread.

    Compatibility Lists in this thread.

BTW, I've relocated your thread to the TX forum.

Congratulations on your new TX Maui Mike.

Suggest you take it slow and get familiar with the changes in the PIMs; things have changed considerably since the III series. Explore every menu and the preferences; you will find that a number of hacks are no longer needed.

Then take a wander over to the suggested threads, keeping in mind that it is really easy to go overboard, install everything under the sun, and have a heck of a time troubleshooting (hint: compatibility list at palmfocus.com).

    Enjoy!
