TX reset problem
if I made another one of these, I lost it. there, that's my excuse.
whenever I reset my TX after an app crashes, it locks into a reset loop. it doesn't matter what app crashes, the result is the same every time. if I want my TX back, I have to hard reset and restore. this works as long as nothing crashes. what could cause this and how do I fix it?

Re: TX reset problem
Incompatible third-party application that will not exit cache because it is poorly written. The TX will crash when the cache needs the space the bad app will not let go of and the crash will not be caused by the app you are running. If you need to run memory intensive apps (like games, Blazer with beaucoup downloads, and game emulators) it is recommended that you locate and remove the bad application, or if you are unwilling to let it go, soft reset before you start running anything that needs to load up with a decent amount of cache.

Re: TX reset problem
Well you are right that the TX should not work that way. Any rare or possibly incampatible apps that we can help you with???

Re: TX reset problem
Are you now willing to let go of your bad app EV?
I do not know what app it is or if there will be enough cache freed because I don't know what you will be running after the soft reset.DT Lives in SFO...away from flying objects.

Re: TX reset problem
well, the bad app could be anything I have installed, up to date or not. I have neither the time, patience, or capability to go through installing things one by one untill I find the culprit. (this was easy back when Palm handhelds had less than 8 megs storage)
on the topic of TX problems caused by software, here's a stinker. recently, I have been unable to send SMS messages through my TX..keeps saying that my phone can't handle the request. I know for a fact that it can, I was sending SMS messages from my TX for months before this started happening. I've tried everything I can think of with no results..anything that might help this situation other than a .50 caliber?

Re: TX reset problem
An app that caused this to my TX lately, is IconsPlus 2.0.
But you don't need to hard reset, a warm reset works. Then I disabled IconsPlus 2.0 and it then reset fine. I had to delete it, and install version 1.1 again.... (angry). I called the app support, and they didn't care if it caused loop resets. So, don't buy from them (www.initclip.com)Igor Porto

Re: TX reset problem
Hi Igor, sorry to hijack (temporarily) this thread. But on the issue of iconsplus2.0, I used to have the same problems till I realised it did not like playing with Fontsmoother and skinUI!

Re: TX reset problem
I've been finding that the TX (mine at least) becomes less and less stable as it's internal mamory is filled. anyone else experiance this? (aka, anyone other than me ever completely filled the internal flash?)

Re: TX reset problem
himpressive,
Well, at first, IconsPlus 2.0 caused loop resets, because it conflicted with BrightnessFix, from Dmitry Grinberg. Then I deleted BrightnessFix.
Then, IconsPlus 2.0 started to cause spontaneous resets, during HotSync. It was a nightmare, and I couldn't find the culprit. If it's SkinUI, then I can't delete SkinUI, because I can't live without it!
I have to stick with version 1.1 until the developer decides to fix the bugs. But I miss the best feature of IconsPlus 2.0, which is the possibility to use icons from different skins, simultaneously.
Eternal Visitor,
It depends on how much of RAM filled you're talking about. I have only 15MB free, and it stable as a rock, like it always were. I don't like to fill up the internal storage, but it is possible to get unstable when it has 5MB or less.Igor Porto
