    Default Mykbd macro

I love using macro in mykbd to launch programs. It seems to be very fast and convenient to switch among programs. However, the current way to run a macro is to type a letter and then the "cycle" button (a circled arrow). According to Pruss, the letter entry suppose to be removed after (or before) the macro gets activated.

However, my experience is that if I was in a text entry program (memo, doc2go), I got those macro activation letters left behind in my text, which is annoying because I need to go back and remove them myself. I tried to disable uncache and CJKOS (a Chinese viewing/input system) but did not see the difference. According to Pruss, he has never seen this before.

I also had Clip (allow you to have multiple clipboard), and Powerclip installed.

    Anybody has this problem?

    Thanks!!

Yes, this happens to me. I hate it, because I can't use myKBD macros to simple operations, like Undo. It doesn't work, because it writes the letter before hitting the Macro button, and the letter stays there. I can't Copy, either.

I really would like that to be fixed.

Thank you so much for voicing your problems. This make me feel better by showing that I may not be just an isolated case.

I have contacted the author and tried to suggest him for a solution. The suggestion is to use a new "macro signaling" key first, and then the macro indicating key. The signaling key entry will not have actual input into the current software and will mask the immediate key entry. The author showed some interest to do it, but I guess that he may not have much complain about this issue so that he hesitaged to invest more time on it.

If you has such problem, please let the author know. Hopefully, we can show the case to the author about this "bug".

I have also hear another person having similar problem with macro at 1src forum. So if we who had problem can show the validity of this "bug", hopefully Pruss will seriously consider a fix for it.

Once this fixed, Mykbd may be the best launcher to switch among programs quicky. It takes only 2 keys and the virtual keyboard is almost always there for quick entry. And you have more than 60 keys there for assignment. It is really hard to beat!!

(Hey, Pruss. Just by how much I advertise it for you, you might just consider give us a fix if you ever read this. )

    Thank you for your help!!

Maybe you could insert a backspace in the macro text?
    e.g.: "<bs><run SMS>"?

That way the extra character is erased.

Are you guys aware that in the standard keyboard there are already 2 or more dedicated keys for macro's (the tiny 1 and 2 in a circle) ?
I have 5 of them in my customised version

BTW I wrote a review on MyKbd, you can read it here

Thanks for the review on myKbd, holvoetn, especially about the macros---it let me know it was possible to create new macros. But, I don't know how at all, and I can't find any guides anywhere. Can anyone point me to explicit, concrete directions for creating a macro? For example, I would like to create a macro to list the Favorites I've set up in mySkin. I know there is an option to list favorites and recent programs, but I'd like to just have the Favorites list come up.

You would most certainly get my vote for the proposed improvement "The suggestion is to use a new "macro signaling" key first, and then the macro indicating key.".

I don't use macros that much because of the very problems you are experiencing.

    Thanks for making this initiative.
