Another nice feature of Voice Memo is that you can map it to launch with the press of a hard button using ButtonEx for instance. Then if you pull the TX out of your pocket you can press and hold that hard button and in a couple seconds it will start recording. When done recording just let up on the hard button. No need to fumble around pressing the New function then the Record function then the stop function etc. One hand and one button can do it all without even looking at the screen. I love this capability for making a voice memo while driving.

i've just placed an order with wyrenut for one of these mics. i have on old tungsten t, so i have voice memo, but how do i get it? will i be able to get the files just for voice memo directly from the installation cd?

Would this mic enable you to monitor amplified voices without actually recording? I am a transliterator for the deaf/hard-of-hearing and would like to amplify voices in a lecture hall, but I do not want to record the actual lecture. I have a USB mic that has an earphone jack that enables monitoring, and it works on my laptop without running any software. I would like to have this same feature in a PDA so I don't have to lug my laptop around. Would this mic work in this way? What pdas can use this mic? Any other suggestions?

I'm using it right now with one of my mics and a set of headphones, and it does amplify ambient sound, though there are no settings for volume.
