Can I do a mass email from Palm Desktop?
We need to send out a mass email (400- 500). Can I use the email adresses stored in the desktop sortware somehow? I see I can print mailing labels.
Or alternatively can I export email addresses from Desktop to Mail Address Book on the Mac?
Anyway to synch directl to the Address Book?
Thanks very much! the Tungsten E and Palm OS software are very exciting to this newcomer!

You can sync directly with the Mac Address book under OS X if you download and install the iSync Palm Conduit. Of course this also requires you to have iSync installed (which it is by default if you have Panther).
This is how I currently sync, with Address Book and iCal.
With Palm Desktop on the Mac there is not a way I have found to send a mass email. I started writing an Applescript to do it, but was unsuccessful.

Do you find the Mac apps (iCal and Address Book) superior to the Palm desktop versions?
Can you use both? or do you choose? It'd be great to be able to combine the addresses from both sources.
Thanks for your quick reply.

Due to a limitation in the Palm OS you can only sync one Palm Database to one desktop app, so you have to choose between Palm Desktop and iSync.
I find the integration of Address and iCal with Mail and other things very groovy. However they do not handle categories in quite the same way Palm Desktop does. I am a color coding kind of guy, and address book seems to ignore categories from what I can tell, and iCal makes you choose a specific category to put all Palm entered records into during sync.
After sync you can move the items to different calendars if you wish, iCal also totally ignores categories at this time, so all iCal events go into the Palm as unfiled.
I basically switched to iSync because of what you are trying to do, set up email groups to do mass mailings. I have in the mean time discovered that iSync does pretty much what I need it to do, and have even tried integrating some of the facier features of the Apple apps into my lifestyle (sharing calendars, etc.)
