Changing faces, changing cases...
Has anybody ever heard of people swapping cases? I currently have a Palm VII (never use the Palm.net stuff) and would like to swap the guts into something like a Palm V/m5xx case. Does such a product exist?
My reasoning: I work in a manufacturing environment, and I'd feel more comfortable with a metal case than a plastic...
I know it's unlikely, but any help you can offer would be great!

I suppose it's theoretically possible, but talk about your 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound sack . . .

Seriously, there are enough differences between the screens and other parts used in the various Palm models that I suspect that, even if you could overcome the form factor issues, I doubt it would work. While there are a number of replacement cases available, I've yet to see one that crosses model lines. In other words, one case would likely fit the Palm III, IIIx, IIIxe and IIIe models, but not the others. I suspect no case would fit the guts of a Palm VII-series -- there's just too much in the case!Steven G. Tyler, Esq.
