I have both SpbPocketPlus and iLauncher and prefer iLauncher myself.
Browse through my website for other software and hints.

Re: New WM Newb!
I can't help you on the thermodynamics, but I'll make some other recommendations. For task switching and control, I'd say either WISbar 1.4 (not the "Advance" versions, the freeware one), or MagicButton. Other good programs: TCPMP (obviously), uBook Reader (GowerPoint.com), Mapopolis, Tweaks2k2 (performance increases, if you want them), Resco File Explorer, Virtual Earth Mobile, Opera Mobile, Pocket TV Browser, and WM5torage (use your Axim as a USB drive). You might also look at FreewarePPC.com.
Pocket Informant is an incredibly versatile piece of software--personally, though, I gave it up because it was overkill for my needs.
I suggest that you remap your front application buttons to the Start Menu, left and right softkeys, and OK/close. It's a bit of a sacrifice, but the one-handed functions are too nice to do without. There's a utility available for download on Aximsite, which is a wireless control app. It lets you customize how you handle turning the WiFi and Bluetooth on and off. Also, while you're there, replace the default Bluetooth stack with the superior Widcomm version that the folks over there have put together. Last but not least, there's a world of wonderous "wow" software out there for extra touches: mobile versions of major games, remote PC control, all sorts of stuff.

Re: New WM Newb!
Adama, I have installed MagicButton. It works great. I am looking through all of the other programs you listed right now.
AKA, your site is very helpful. I am looking at the programs you have installed and deciding on what I need.
Good stuff, thanks all! I must say, I really like this machine.

Re: New WM Newb!
It the scent of a new toy!
Enjoy and look forward to your updates.
I like simplicity, and when I have compared Palm PIM functions with WM users, Palm has had the edge. However, I have seen some functions that on newer versions just may be tempting, for a change of pace fix.
Get via Amazon.com by chance
curious.

Yes BAB, that is very true. I cannot put any new gadget down for anything.
I will agree that Palm OS is far more user friendly than WM. WM is more powerful allowing you to tweak every aspect of your devices operation, but. Polar opposites. Nice scene change though. I'm currently using it side by side with my TX, hopefully I can report on my findings in the near furture.
I stole this Axim on eBay for a great price. I'll just say, it is the 520mhz model and I snagged it for <200 brand new. Couldn't ignore that deal which took some creative bidding on my part.
And yes, I attend USF (South Florida) majoring in mechanical engineering with a mathematics minor. I believe that you were in the electronics engineering field BAB, is that right?"The best offense is a good defense."

Re: New WM Newb!
Yes, the key word presently is "were"!
Times change, and much of what was taught, (back when), is no longer.
When I think I am current on a subject, I learn I am not, must always keep learning.
Presently, coordinating major project that has nothing to do, with technology directly. It involves processes, people, schedules and methods, in multiple locations. Also, must coordinate training new procedures, and develop metrics to measure progress and report failures, but more importantly develop a 99.98% delivery level when 40% of potential failure is out of my control, with technology that they expect available 98.9% up-time. (sometimes, me thinks the deck is stacked
)
And yes, the customer requesting and marketers that sold are PPC users
MC enjoy and look forward to progress and views, and don ot forget your studies.Welcome to Brighthand
