Default X5 entry model, your opinions?

Hey guys, I haven't been able to find a review of the entry level x5 unit anywhere, so I thought I'd ask your opinions on it.

I'm looking to pick up a PDA for a buddy for his birthday. I bought a 22xx iPaq recently and gave him my old BE-300, and... well, the BE-300 just doesn't stack up so well .

The entry level X5 looks good when I look at the spec sheet anyways, so... how well does it work for you fellows who actually own one?

It'll be used for games as much as anything, so comments on that are appreciated too .

    Thanks,

    Erik

I have the Axim basic. I just got it to replace my audiovox. The Small Business site had it for $179, I had a 10% off coupon, threw in a cradle (it only comes with a sync cable and charger) all for $200.

I am very pleased. I was happy with a speed of the Maestro so the 300mhz Axim is fine. These things just keep getting cheaper so I couldn't see spending the extra $100 for memory and 100mhz extra.

This is my 4th PDA in 6 years so I am more cost conscious than feature conscious. I use an SD card for data, and CF WiFi card for networking and I think I have a good deal.

I just got one about a week ago, I also picked up the linksys CF wireless card. Pure bliss. I had an ipaq about a year ago, but was unhappy with the battery life, especially with wireless. The axim has awesome battery life...I would say go for it.

The axim I've tried seemed very good for the price! (basic)
I would also say go for it!
