That deal is featured on our site, 3rd one down.

No telling how long it will last, but that's a very good deal. Nothing new is immediate from Dell or HP on the traditional PDA front.

Do you consider this in a different class than the Treo 700w because of telephony, camera, screen size-resolution etc..or no?

I've briefly heard you can do VOIP (& camera SD slot add on) on Axim X51v, is that so?

If I order over web soon is there an an accessory I should give serious consideration to at point of purchase or can I just get the rest later for around similar/better prices as needed?

FYI, techbargains.com says the deal expires Feb. 1. And Brian, I have decided to get the x51v, but I don't need it until the beginning of June. 2 questions, and I realize they both require a bit of foresight that I just don't have. Is there anything in the pipeline before then (I don't think so, but in case I'm mistaken). Also, have you seen / do you foresee better deals coming from Dell in the next couple of months, or is this as good as it gets? Thanks.

It has been cheaper, but $325 is very good without a lot of nonsense.

Comparing to the Treo is impossible, they're completely different animals. You can do VOIP with WM devices. The only accessory you might get right away is a case, and RAM.

Thanks Brian, so you consider them to be in different classes then, apples & oranges comparison, you own both-if so when do you prefer to use the Axim?

I figured I could get 1GB of memory elsewhere for less, no?

BTW, I'm also finally going to go look at the Treo 700w today.

I don't owm them both, but have used them both. I'm on the 700w now and will probably be a Smatphone guy going forward.

Don't by accessories through Dell, or at least not without searching elsewhere. They're really expensive sometimes.

Just to let people know (I know this is last minute as the x51v sale ends at midnight either tomorrow or the next day), there's a plethora of $35 off a $300 order from Dell available on eBay. You can stack them on the 35% off and get the Axim for $290.

Yes, I was going to come here & report just that.

I ordered the Axim X51v last night for $289.35 + tax (+$1.33 for ebay $35 off coupon) & it shipped already with a scheduled delivery of Wednesday.

Grand Total with tax+ebaycc=$312.02.

I did find a site that listed some price history deals as low as around $235 before applicable tax with multiple stackable coupons back in December when Dell deals thrive (but my deal ended up ~42% off & timing feels right):

I have been using the Palm Tungsten C when needed since it came out so it should be a significant change.

I did go check out the Treo 700w on Saturday but felt the screen was not quite impressive enough as reported by cnet. The Treo 650 was right next to it & was sharper as it has a higher res but still small. I was surprised how much like a toy they seemed like due to all the plastic & small sizes.

I would love to see a 3-4" LCD VGA PDA-smartphone some day soon...

I only checked out the Treos for about 15 minutes with 50 people waiting behind me so my opinions may change as I check it out more.
