Default Sylvania 7" Android tablet, $65 shipped today only.

From Daily Deals, 1 Sale A Day. 1 GHz processor, Android 2.1, 800 x 480 screen, 2 GB of storage, MicroSD card slot, WiFi, and HDMI. Very basic, but also very cheap. A good choice if you want to give a simple Android device to a parent or child, someone who doesn't need much or otherwise might break it.

It could also be handy in certain dedicated tasks. A bedside alarm/white noise generator, for example. Less capable devices sell for more.

    Very nice. Very tempting.

EDIT: Mount a couple of these to the back of the front-seat headrest in your minivan, through in a couple of movies, and each kid gets a cheap mobile "DVD" player for the car and the parents don't need to deal with the clutter of DVDs all over the back seat. Mount one to the inside of the kitchen cabinet or on the outside of the fridge door to keep your shopping list and recipes handy.

I've been looking for an Android device to "tinker" with so I ordered one of these. One thing that bothers me is the mini usb port when all my existing chargers are micro usb. I've got an old 8 GB microsd card lying around in the bottom of a drawer somewhere so for $65 I got myself a 10 GB Android device. Not Raspberry PI cheap, but pretty cheap!

Well it's time for an update. I'll start another thread and edit this post to link to it...

Closing this thread since deal has expired and consumer review is linked in last post.
