Sylvania 7" tab from CVS - issues already.
I've had this thing for about 2 weeks and up til now it's been doing fine.
Today is my first problem. I was trying to type with the virtual keyboard (to post on BH, by coincidence) and the keyboard response was glacially slow. If you hold the keypress too long, the alternate character set pops up so that's no good.
It gets worse. The space bar and the backspace keys stick. Now, how in the he11 can virtual keys stick??
I've done several resets to no effect.
No changes in the system, rooting or anything like that.
The only other change was physical. My brother gave me a screen protector made for his Nook Color. It hasn't caused any problems before now.
Anybody got any ideas or have I become a cautionary tale?

It just runs slow. Doesn't stop that I can tell. Other functions seem to work OK.

Hmmmm it might be the screen protector. Have you tried removing it or at least partial?

As that is pretty much the only variable, I will probably have to.
I guess maybe that's the reason my brother didn't like them, either.

I would also suspect the screen protector. The screen isn't that responsive even without it, and if a protector is installed just a little wrong it can cause problems. At least you won't have the issue of the protector getting under the edge of the case, like happens on a Palm, which has caused lots of problems for lots of people over the years.

Amazon.com: Sylvania SYNET7LP 7-Inch Mini Tablet (Black): Computer & Accessories
Got this in my inbox this morning. I bought at $100 but I don't think I would buy at $140 plus shipping.
The screen protector removal helped, but did not eliminate the problem. Still puzzled.

It's probably just the cheap digitizer.

I expect so. The price you pay for going cheap. To be expected.
Otherwise, it's been pretty much OK and a good learning experience.

Re: Sylvania 7" tab from CVS - issues already.
Isn't this a different model? The one at Amazon has a 800 MHz Intel Pentium M processor. The $99 CVS model has a 1 Ghz ARM 11 Processor. (Apparently the CVS model was going for $75 after coupon code APRIL25EC)
