Background music sometimes stops after a few minutes - What do I do?
Hello, everyone.
When playing music in the background on my Z72 (where the screen turns off to save power) -- sometimes, the music just quits. I have had this happen twice so far. I've had my Z72 around a month or so. Most of the time it works great.
(Using Real Player.)
Is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks!

Make sure you have "Enable Background Playback" checked in the Options for Real Player. If you have done this, only reason I can come up with is perhaps Real player has run through the list of songs you have and has stopped at the end. There is a button to click to make it "Loop" or replay from the beginning. It's the one with the arrow in a circle, next to the one for "Shuffle".

At one point a version of Facer would disable the "anti-turn off" feature of real one if it was launched while Facer was running. Not sure if you use it or not.
Visor to M515 to T3 to T3.5 to TX (now a paperweight) to Treo 650 (another paperweight) to Treo 680 to Blackberry Curve 8900 to Blackberry Bold 9700.

Thanks
I have never used Facer and I do not know what it is.
I will try the other suggestions.
Thank you for your responses.

real
Hello mcuna7,
Paul from palmOne here. There may be another point to consider as well. Ordinarily, if you stay in RealPlayer while listening to music, it should not stop playing.
However, if you leave RealPlayer while music is playing and go to some other application and don't perform an action within 30 seconds - 3 minutes (whatever the "Auto-off after" is set for in Prefs), the music will stop and the unit will shut off.
If this is the case, just let the Zire stay in RealPlayer and the music should continue beyond the time you've set the "Auto-off after" setting to.
Best

Another option is to use Aeroplayer (free for OGG, shareware for MP3).
It supports background playback just perfectly !Digital since 1980, handheld since 2001

About Real Player response
Thanks so much!
I bet that's what happened.
I probably did not leave the unit with Real Player on. I probably did use another application and not put it back on Real Player when I was finished.
I will try that.
