    Default M515 fried

In a fit of impatience I managed to connect the wrong adaptor plug to my m515. The palm came on and then slowly died. Would I have fried the internals totally or just the battery. Its not worth sending for a repair as that is nearly $180 (?90 in the UK)

    Any advice appreciated

    thanks

What was the rating of the incorrect adapter?

The palm power converter has a rated output of 5 VDC, 1 Amp, (1000ma).

    Default power rating

it was the adaptor from my wireless modem which I think is 16V - 1A 16VA - would I have fried the insides totally?

Yes, 16 VDC @ 1 AMP will zap the life from the poor unit's battery. The battery's inbuilt charge circuit may have protected the unit, openned and prevented excessive power from damaging.

A replacement battery may return unit to function, but it is you call to take the 50/50 gamble.

    sorry for your loss.

Did you ever get your device fixed? My son did the same thing to my M515. Should I buy a new battery or did it not work for you?
