How to migrate from 515 to Tungsten E
My extended warranty company is about to replace my 515 with a Tungsten E. I got BACKUP BUDDY with some other software I bought a year or so ago. How do I most efficiently migrate my data to the Tungsten from the 515?

There are a couple of ways. First, I'll tell you how I went from a m125 to a TE, then I'll tell you a safer but slower way.
First, I installed the new Palm Desktop right over the m125's version. Be sure to disable as many background programs (antivirus software, event schedulers, etc.) as you can, as they sometimes interfere with installs.
Then, I went into my C:\Palm\(my user name)\Backup folder and removed all Hacks along with X-Master (they won't work with Palm OS 5 anyway), and also removed my m125's OS updates. This left just my add-on programs and their databases in that folder. (PIM data is backed up in separate files.)
After charging the TE for a few hours, I HotSynced. Everything was loaded except for ePocrates, and after a second HotSync while online (to update ePocrates), that was all set.
Then I had to run every app to check for compatibility. Only one program (Reptoids, an Asteroids-type game) flat-out told me it wasn't compatible and didn't run. Several others just froze the E and required a soft reset followed by deletion of the offending app. After most of a day's playing around (between the usual other household stuff), I had all the incompatible apps deleted and had downloaded updated versions of several. I also re-installed LauncherX to get the hi-res skins. I had several pictures in my m125 (used with FireViewer), and all of those had to be re-converted in color and bigger to fill the E's screen (twice the pixels per inch as the m125).
The safer way: Rename your C:\Palm\(your user name)\Backup folder to Backupold or something, then HotSync the E. You get your PIM data back right away that way. Then, install your add-on programs one at a time to check for compatibility. Don't install Hacks or Hack controllers or any m515 OS updates or patches. DO go to Palm's site and download and install the SDIO update.
