    Angry Uninstall

Dumb Question! How do I uninstall or remove third party programs from handheld and desktop? I can't find any info anywhere on the Palm website. Help!

On your Palm, in the Graffitti area, underneath the house looking icon, there is another icon, tap on that and you should see: Delete, Beam, Catagory, Info, and Copy. Tap on delete, and choose what you want to delete. When I want to delete something from my Palm Desktop ( I use a Mac.), I just highlight and hit delete, simple! I hope this helps you. Relax, you will learn this stuff.

    Talking Uninstall

Well that was much easier than I thought. Thank you VERY MUCH! BTW, I cannot get a 3rd party program (Splash Shopper) to install to my expansion card. It shows up under "install", but does not actually install during a HotSync. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You are welcome! On your Palm Desktop, under install, do you have your SD card chosen as the destination? Is the card in you Palm? (I am not trying to insult you! I have missed simple things myself, that's all.) Hmmm. If none of the above work, try restarting your computer, opening Palm Desktop, and put in there to install to your card again. I am thinking..... can you see the smoke?

    Unhappy Splash Shopper

Thanks once again! I was finally able to install SplashShoper by totally removing it from my PC, and reinstalling it. On the next HotSync it installed to the internal Plam memory. Splash's website says that this is where it is supposed to go. Makes me wonder why it was trying to go to the SD card before. It works, so I'm not complaining.

...However, now when I hot sync the Palm, the log says "SplashShopper syncronization failed". But, when I look at the SplashShopper program, all of the data appears to have transferrred (synched) just fine.

The really weird part is that I only get a sync log on the Plam. My PC has an error message when I try to view the log which says "C:\Palm\Villal\HotSync.log cannot be found" (Villal is the user name). I figured that it would create and write this file, so I'm not sure what is going on. I am wondering if these two things are related?

Not only can you smell the smoke at my house, but the smoke detectors are going of, and the fire fighters have been dispatched.

I don't know what to tell you about that! I don't use a Windows machine, so I can't help you there. Sorry!

    Question Another Question

How do I delete things that are on the main page of the Palm (I don't even know what it's called... the page with the icons that shows up when you turn it on)? I'm referring to stuff that's not listed in the "delete" menu... for example, the "Welcome" program.

Please forgive my ignorance... I just bought my new toy today

    AmyMD:
You need a program called JackSprat to delete the built-in programs that you are talking about. Here is a link to it:

I have used this program successfully to remove programs! I have NEVER had a problem. I use it to remove all the built in programs that I don't/won't use, ie: welcome program and expense.

You are welcome. I love my Mac!!! I am glad I could help.

This program is only for Palm m500 and m505. Any other ideas?
