Default Palm M515 audio question: is it possible to convert mini-usb to audio output?

Hi all, as well as i wrote on title, i ask if anyone has been able to make a mini-usb port as audio output with one of the adapters that are sold on ebay.
A lot of them say that works on htc and other devices:
    may be palm, too?

the m515 has the universal connector, not a min-USB:

    ok, i remake the question:
is it possible to add an output audio jack on m515? Is there an universal connector --> audio jack adapter? Example, if i want to use headphone.

I'm not really familiar with the M515, but there ARE many cables with a headphone jack at one end and different plugs on the other end. Check Monoprice.com. I bought a nice cable that plugs into my laptops headphone jack and has the standard left-right 'RCA' jacks on the other other end. It was less than $5.

Hmmm, technically possible, I reckon it is. Feasible, I don't think so. zemir, what are you trying to achieve? Turn the device into a portable .mp3 player, perhaps? Or do you have a hearing impairment?

Besides Varjak's pointed option, I suggest you kinda stroll the places where you can find old accessories for the Palm devices of that era. There were the weirdest peripherals for them at one time past, and perhaps there can be audio adapters that got connected by means of the multi-connector.

There is the technical capability to make that a mini-USB connector gets dedicated for audio output, that's how my Motorola SLVR L7 gets the headset connected. But I reckon this is a different challenge. The feature of interest here is not just to get a peripheral of some kind that can get audio through the multi-connector of the Palm m515, but also that you can get the drivers so the Palm device can learn what the hell are you connecting there. OK, let us know your progress

I don't think the universal connector supports audio out (or in, for that matter). if you look at the diagrams on these 2 pages (linked below), you'll see that the newer multi-connector does support audio in and out. sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Adding to RA's statement, if there is audio adapter cable, the m515 would be still useless, because there is no sound hardware and not to mention audio driver.

If you want to play audio files, I suggest that you get Zire 31.

Rick's correct, there's no audio out on the m515. And even if you did manage to wire up a connector, the m515 simply doesn't have any kind of audio hardware or the software to play back sounds other than the speaker beeps.

All this, I was thinking about it as I inspected my m515. Cause yes, I don't think there's even anything similar to an audio hardware in a device of minimalistic design that doesn't have an audio-out jack.

i think the problem is not hardware but software: all palm os 4 devices have not advandce audio support then the relative hardware has been made without audio jacks. From palm os 5 all devices have support for advance audio.
I think to buy an old zire 71 to listen on the road my prefered music.
